Question for a fic I'm working on

First off, I'm a newbie here. But obviously, a big fan of the show during its run. Recently dug out my tapes to rewatch some episodes after watching some music vids on Kristin's site. And I've begun writing -- or attempting to go back and write -- an idea I've had growing in my mind for a few years now.
Questions:
1.] Are wolves and/or wolf attacks a rare thing in Toronto? I mean, are wolves seen around there for someone to be able to use them as an escape-goat for animal attacks? (o.o Hope that made some sense. Didn't get much sleep and my philosophy class bored me outta my skull!)
2.] Where did Nat go to Med school? Was this ever mentioned in the series? Or at least how long she's been residing in the Toronto area?
3.] I think in "Ashes To Ashes" or some episode of that sort, when we found out Lacroix's "origins", that was in Rome, right? And I'm pretty sure it was "some year" A.D....right?

(And yeah, this is a story that's gonna involve werewolves. Bwuahahaaa!)

3. Lacroix was a Roman General. He was brought over when Pompeii (spelling?) was destroyed by the volcano eruption.

This is our safe place.
As for #1: I'm not really sure how Natalie explains away every vampire attack in the show, but in fanfiction, animal attacks (wild or feral dogs) appear to be the culprit of choice. No one ever questions Natalie or her record integrity on the television show. In fanfiction, that many have extrapolated that to bring the attention of: enforcers, government, X-Files, etc....
