We realize that this may seem out of left field, but we wanted to let you know that Forever Knight's WAR Thirteen and its inspiration, Susan M. Garrett, were the focus of this week's episode of the podcast This Week In Fandom History (Spotify). Susan sounds like she was an amazing person, writer, and community leader for fandom-at-large and the Forever Knight fandom in particular, and her brother's Tor bio was right -- she was absolutely a shining star. We hope that we did her memory some measure of justice, because Susan seems like she was awesome. We absolutely loved getting to learn about her fannish life and contributions to the world of fandom, and we had fun learning a bit about her beloved Forever Knight, too. We would love to talk about other Forever Knight WARs and fannish events in the future (and hopefully cry less)!

Thanks for your time reading this post. ♥

Well, first off, there's a Forever Knight Wiki. There's a section for the wars, though most have only skimpy entries. (The entry for War 14, however, was written during and after. It is absurdly long and emits a fair bit of steam.)

There is a Forever Knight Website Archive if you want to deep dive into ancient history (1998-2004 or so). So many little sites were going to go into oblivion that an effort was made to preserve them. This includes the main fanfic archive, www.fkfanfic.com, whose history has a looooong Fanlore entry.

You may also be interested in The NATPE Seven, which is an account of one of the first online efforts to save a show from being cancelled.

Oh, there was indeed a War 15. You can find its website here.
